Each are being considered with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's departure on the start of the week.

The Manager's Stance on Celtic

The Ipswich boss described the Glasgow giants as "an enormous soccer institution" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old took charge of Portman Road in recent years and guided the team to the English top flight with back-to-back promotions, but they won just four games last campaign as they were demoted back to the Championship and they currently sit 12th in England's second tier.

"I have not had any of those conversations," the English capital native ex- Irish youth international said when questioned about being on the candidate list.

"This isn't a matter I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is currently.

"I have a special job here at a special team. And we're at a crucial stage of the campaign. Anything external hasn't reached my radar."

Background and Agreement Details

It has been suggested that the manager would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our affinities," he said when questioned about these. "It's unlikely everyone has to go around and announce what they were, but of course it's a massive football club."

The coach signed a new four-year contract in last year and was asked about his alleged buyout clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what mine are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I approach this job like I will remain Ipswich manager indefinitely. I know that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I'll always give maximum effort as long as I am here."

Bellamy's Position

Bellamy represented Celtic on temporary transfer from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Welsh striker is minded to finish the ongoing global tournament campaign, a position that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from assuming the Glasgow position.

The Welsh squad are currently third in their qualifying group behind leaders Belgium and second-placed North Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and North Macedonia in next month would book their place in the final qualifying round, but they are all but assured of making those, thanks to a productive Nations League campaign, should they not finish as their group runners-up.

Considering his current position, Bellamy, whose contract expires after Euro 2028, would be unavailable until after the play-offs at the earliest.
