Loyal followers of Ariana Grande are demanding that a individual who breached a fence and seized the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared footage shows the Australian man bypassing camera operators and charging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a event pathway flanked by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though official papers indicated that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

History of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram profile features recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney show in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is evidently a punishable act," stated an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over the Star's Past Trauma

Many fans criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote a further message on Instagram.

Some supporters also questioned guards at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while others demanded social media platforms to block Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Event Details

In footage circulating online, Grande appeared startled when she was grabbed by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not commented on the situation, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of supporters had assembled in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore mall, including a number who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The film, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a dual adaptation of the acclaimed theatrical production Wicked, which focuses on the surprising friendship between two distinct characters.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and scored a dozen Academy Award nods, earning a pair for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
