A popular South African radio and club DJ has been murdered in the nation's economic hub Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation grappling with entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the forty-year-old media personality was confronted by three suspects, with one shot at him before escaping on foot.
The purpose behind the attack has not been established and no suspects have been apprehended have taken place, police said.

Authorities said that Stock was targeted as he was leaving a building close to the Carlton Centre.

The DJ tried to run away after he was shot but collapsed on the opposite side of the road.
